Five signs your body isn't detoxifying as it should

Are you wondering how you tell whether your body is detoxifying as it should be? Well look no further! Nutritional Therapist Jessica has shared 5 things to watch out for that may be tell-tale signs that your body isn’t detoxifying optimally.
Skin
One sign your detoxification systems are overloaded is through your skin. Your body will excrete excess toxins in any way it can. Whether this be via sweat or your skin pores. If left unchecked, this can result in redness, acne, and overall a less radiant appearance to your skin.
How to fix? Start drinking plenty of water and try 'eating the rainbow.' You can find some top tips on our blog here.
Link Nutrition's Skin, Hair and Nails formula can help give your skin the nutrients it needs to stay healthy, or you could try some of the products in their Digestion & Detoxification range a go if you feel you need a boost.
Under-eye dark circles
Liver stress can be one of the reasons for dark circles under your eyes!
How to fix? Try a few weeks without alcohol, sugar, and caffeine alongside plenty of water, a balanced diet and plenty of sleep to help them rejuvenate.
Hormonal imbalance
Another sign your body is not detoxifying as efficiently as it could be is female hormonal fluctuations or changes in libido.
How to fix? Green leafy vegetables such as broccoli, kale, spinach and chard contain a specific plant compound called indole-3-carbinol that help that liver pathway and help balance your hormones.
Fatigue
This can be a sign of many things. But, it can also be a sign of poor detoxification.
Are you getting plenty of sleep, but you never feel refreshed? It's time to take some action and find the root cause.
How to fix? Speak to your doctor and get a full blood screen. If your doctor comes back with the all-clear, try Link Nutrition's Energy Formula to help fulfil our body's energy needs.
Poor Digestion
Sluggish bowels, bloating and excess gas can all be signs that your body is struggling to eliminate and detoxify optimally.
How to fix? Gradually increase dietary fibre intake with plenty of fruits and vegetables, lentils, pulses, nuts and seeds and stay well hydrated. Upping your probiotic intake with kefir, kombucha and sauerkraut as well as including Link Nutrition's Synbiotic 7 supplement which includes 40bn live cultures per dose.
Do you still need support? Speak to a qualified nutritionist about functional tests to understand where the issue might be stemming from.
