Hands up if you're feeling the post-summer slump? Having difficulty getting out of your crispy cottons in the morning? Or reaching for one too many coffees in the day? We hear you!
Getting back into a good routine can be a real struggle physically and emotionally because when our bodies are out of sync it can take a little while to adjust. Panic not! We’ve got a few top tips to help you reset and restore your old friend “balance” to help you get the most out of your days.
Top tips to help you make feel your best every day!
Life can be fast-paced, and no more so when we’ve had a little time off and are trying to get back to the daily grind. Both yoga and meditation can be a really great way to keep your mind focused, and allow a little reflection within your day, whilst also improving your sleep and mood. Including either one of these practices at least once a week can help get you back into your usual rhythm, helping our bodies to restore and bring back that all-important balance.
Exercise is a great way to not only boost mood but your metabolism too. It stimulates the production and release of endorphins, the neurotransmitter involved in feelings of pleasure (the chemical responsible for the high you get after exercise). Exercising and sweating is one of the best ways to get rid of toxins that gather in the body from the foods and drinks we consume to the toxins we’re exposed to in the environment. Regular exercise is also known to help improve our sleep, ensuring we wake up feeling refreshed ready to get back to it!
When we are on holiday it’s easy to overindulge in foods and drinks that our bodies aren’t used too. This is why it is so important to ensure that once we do get back to normality, to drink plenty of fluids so that were re-hydrating our body and helping it to flush out toxins.
Great news! You don't just have to rely on drinking water to bring your body back to balance, but herbal teas too! Our favourites are fennel, liquorice, nettle and dandelion, which help to cleanse and restore your body whilst keeping your fluid intake up at the same time.
All we all know, we need food to nourish and fuel our bodies. With this in mind, it is important to understand which foods are going to best set us up during busy times, as these will help us to get back into our routines. Nutrient-rich, balanced meals and snacks throughout the day will help you to feel more energised. A little tip! Kick-start your day with a protein source. This could include eggs (scrambled, poached, boiled), adding nuts and seeds to your overnight oats, or perhaps even some salmon. Whichever you decide it will happily see you through until lunch.
Bouncing back into our routine isn’t a one size fits all approach, it's completely unique to us all. If you feel like you need an additional boost, our boosting complexes should help to make the transition easier.
