Pasta with Cavolo Nero Pesto

This super green pasta is speedy and packed with brain-boosting veggies and brain-loving walnuts! 




  • 100g pasta (We like chickpea pasta)
  • 150g steamed cavolo nero 
  • Handful fresh basil 
  • Handful walnuts
  • 6tbsp extra virgin olive oil
  • 100g spinach
  • Parmesan cheese (optional)


  1. In a pan of boiling water add in your pasta and cook as per packet instructions.
  2. Whilst your pasta is cooking, blitz together the cavolo nero, spinach, basil, extra virgin olive oil and walnuts (keep some aside for the top) in your food processor until smooth. 
  3. Once your pasta is cooked, drain it, reserving some of the pasta water. 
  4. Combine the pasta with your green pesto and mix well until combined, add a little of the saved pasta water if you like a little more sauce!
  5. Once combined, pop your pesto pasta into a bowl and top with more basil leaves, finely chopped walnuts and a shaving of parmesan if you’re using. Enjoy!
